When you choose to render, WAV should be an option. Just pick that format and you’ll have your WAV file. I can’t give precise instruction because I don’t have the “Movie Studio” version of Vegas – only the big brother Vegas 6 + DVDA 3.

Upgrade to DVDA3, rename the layers properly, and you’ll be able use them as you expect.

Several options:
1) Ripple Edit (must be very careful with this one)
2) Insert – Time to insert the length needed for the new material.
3) Select all events necessary an move them all at once. I simplify this task by using the “Select Events” tool in Excalibur.Edward Troxel

Anything that changed must be rendered before printing to tape. However, this may or may NOT be a very long process – just depends on what you’ve done to the video. For example, if you are starting with DV-AVI and you’ve simply chopped out some sections and added some dissolves, only the dissolves will be rendered which is a very fast process. However, if you’ve applied multiple effects to every event, then every frame must be rendered. So, yes, there will be some rendering time involved if you do more that straight cuts of DV-AVI. To me, the rendering time has not been an issue.

Since you mention heavy video effects, you could try pre-rendering or RAM rendering.

On the left side, change “Maintain Aspect” to NO. Just play around with the various settings there.

You cannot simply take two DVD’s and combine them. You will need to get the actual footage back into the computer some way. You can do this either by ripping the DVD back to an AVI file or MPEG2/AC3 file(s) or you can simply capture by playing the DVD through your convertor and capturing normally. Then you’ll have re-author the DVD.

You’re rendering from the WMV??? Stick with the ORIGINAL file for additional rendering. The WMV should be treated as a DESTINATION format – not an editing format.

Being in an NTSC country, this was not discovered until version 4 was released. The tally system will still work fine, it just won’t totally surround the clips at this time.
