Not the Pal AVI Matrox dv codec.
My question was about to know the field order because Vegas interprets a Matrox avi files as a Lower Filed first, but I’m sure it’s a Upper Field.
    Any idea?

If you open an AVI file in the Vegas Media Pool, and look at the detailed view, it will tell you whether the file is upper or lower field first.

Ok but could it be possible that vegas do not interpret in the correct way the matrox pal dv codec that it is always UPPER ?

no…Pal is always lower, only avi captured by Matrox RTX100 is Upper, but Vegas seams to interepret it as a lower….and I don’t know the reason

whether a file is encoded as upper field first or lower field first, the way software knows which is set by a data bit in the AVI header. if the bit is set incorrectly, obviously application software will read the wrong value. there is some software available that allows you to reset the data bit in the header.
