How do I render audio and video for DVD???
Help! I am trying to make my first DVD from Sony Vegas Movie Studio + DVD. My video was recorded as standard (non-widescreen) and I’ve added some music and a few effects.
I did “Make Movie” and rendered to NTSC MPEG-2. But, I can’t figure out how to get the audio! The manual for the DVD Authoring S/W says to do PCM (a .wav file), but I can’t figure out how to render to that format. What do I do? Are these even the formats I should be using?
Please help! I really want to send this DVD to my parents before my Dad’s surgery. 🙁

When you choose to render, WAV should be an option. Just pick that format and you’ll have your WAV file. I can’t give precise instruction because I don’t have the “Movie Studio” version of Vegas – only the big brother Vegas 6 + DVDA 3.

Unfortunately, I can’t find .wav as an option unless I click a few advanced features in what seems like a convoluted way to get there… and once it’s done rendering to .wav I can’t play it on my PC media player so I doubt it worked.
A friend told me to use .avi instead. It appears to get my video and audio out of Vegas and into DVD Authoring. I’m now preparing files to write to DVD thru the DVD authoring S/W which is now rendering.

Yes, AVI should work fine and the DVD authoring program should convert it correctly to both MPEG2 and WAV/PCM.
