Vegas is not designed to use external hardware cards to speed up renders and previews. All you need is a standard firewire card. If you want to use the Matrox RTX100, you’ll have to use Premiere. With Vegas, that card is totally unnecessary and will not be used.

Is this a multi-cam shoot? If yes, you might want to look at scripts designed to simplify that process.

Yes, VEG is the full version but your file is the equivalent.

Take a look at Vol 1 #7 of my newsletter for info on rendering for DVD. Once rendered, put those files in DVDA to author your DVD.
BTW, even when burning to DVD, I always create a master to tape as well.

If you still get some after doing what Peter mentioned, try adding just a very slight blur to the image. The problem occurs when you have very fine lines in hi-res image.

Yes, Gearshift is post capture and Cineform is during capture. Cineform does offer other advantages, though, such as splitting the files using scene detection. Either way should work fine, though.

That’s all fine. It’s in the media pool that way as well. If you open a VEG file and the media is not found, you are given several option – one of which is to RECAPTURE. *IT* will take care of remembering the start and stop times for you.

Why are all your cuts lost if you re-capture?
If you have a master of the final, why would there be a problem making more copies? Just pop it in the deck and press play or duplicate a DVD.
You still have your project file. Simply recapture from tape with the exact same start and stop times you had before and point the project files to the new capture. That should be identical.
