When you add a “Package”, you replace all effects with the new set of effects.

If you add the effects individually, you should be able to add them all.

32 is the color depth. You may need to test in a newer version of VEGAS.

Hold down the CTRL key and resize the audio and video to the new desired length together.

To move the timeline back to the top, go to Options – Preferences – Display – and uncheck “Display timeline at the bottom of main window”

It is possible that Project Inspector installed with Excalibur can cause this message to pop up. If you have Project Inspector installed, this will remove that message as well as add a Quantize to Frames check.

I can tell you that I’ve used Excalibur and NewBlue in all versions of 19 including the current build 643 without seeing an error message. Could you please post a screenshot of that error message as well and any details that might be available?

Vegas just doesn’t work that way. Premiere does – but that’s a different timeline paradigm. Vegas keeps the video/audio together. Yes, you can then move it to another track but it doesn’t do what you’re requesting automatically.

I suppose you could write a script that would do that for you. Then you’d have to add all new files using the script.
