No. A DV capture is a bit-for-bit transfer of the data from your camcorder to your computer.

I’m guessing you are not multiplexing and getting separate audio and video files.

1. Use DV. I doubt you will see any degradation in two generations of DV encoding.

2. Defintely interlaced.
