That is strange indeed. You can try renaming your preferences file to see if it helps.

    Also try the 4.1 update.

Your graphics card’s hardware overlay settings might be causing this.

Check them in the Windows Control Panel or the configuration utility that comes with your graphics card.

    1. What is the resolution and pixel aspect ratio (PAR) of your quicktime file?
    2. What is the resolution and PAR of your PPro project/sequence?

May 28, 2009 at 1:18 pm in reply to: CS4 Premiere Pro Export Question??

    1. There is no way to export to WMV on a Mac from within PPro. You will have to export to an intermiediate file and encode using an external utility.

    2. Use the DVD preset in the export options.

That is strange indeed and not typical.

It’s almost like a background application is stealing focus from PPro momentarily, which causes playback to stop.

As a test, create a native PPro project (not using BM presets) and see if you continue to experience the problem.

May 27, 2009 at 10:10 pm in reply to: CS5 Release?

People who went to NAB reported that Adobe said the 4.1 update for CS4 would be released in late May.

If Adobe are still working on an update for CS4 then I doubt they have started work on CS5.

  • [Todd Roush] “I guess instill have to find out why it won’t export.”

Absolutely. The tip I gave was to hopefully provide you with a temporary work around.

Knowing the information in the link I provided will go a long way to helping us help you figure out the root cause.

Unfortunately not, but what you can do is copy the clips on the old timeline and paste them into the new timeline. Very handy. 🙂

  • Restart your workstation and open AME without opening PPro.

Open your PPro project in AME and select the sequence you want to export.

    Does that work?
