Thanks guys but I tried it all out. Wide and narrow lenses, tilting the floor and positioning the camera but somehow I can’t get the shadows right.

    Here’s the raw key footage:

I really would appreciate it, if one of you could just try it out.
Place it into a 3d scene with camera, floor and 3 spotlights in the back, casting and accepting shadows turned on on every layer.

I think it’s just plain impossible since it’s just a 2D layer and the toes are not at the same height as the heel….

I’m sorry, I don’t have a solution for your problem. It’s more like I’m experiencing something similar.

Sometimes when I animate a solid (let’s say pale gray) and turn on motion blur and DOF I get noise over the solid which is even recognizable for the color picker. It has something to do with blurring the layer…which is also your problem…

March 27, 2009 at 11:42 pm in reply to: Crash/unstability after using Adjust Exposure function

    Hi Chris,

well, I’m already running version 9.0.1.51 or is there another to come?
And I’m not meaning the Exposure effect (which was described as buggy in the 9.0.1 release notes) but the adjust expore function in the viewer right next to the flowchart button (the little iris icon which only affects the viewer itself).

    Thanks

    Well here is the cure.

For people like me living in Germany (and I think Gabriel does too by judging the name, sorry) all this solutions don’t work, except changing to english keyboard settings by pressing ALT+SHIFT.

But you can do the following:

on Windows Vista go the the following folder:
    C:UsersYourUsernameAppDataRoamingAdobeAfter Effects9.0 (8.0 respectively)

    on Windows XP here:
    C:Documents and SettingsYourUsernameAnwendungsdatenAdobeAfter Effects9.0

Open the “Adobe After Effects 9.0 Shortcuts.txt” and search for “ToggleTabPanelMaximize”. Then change it to the button you want.

If you are like me using the English User Interface but on a German machine open AE once in english as well as in german language then go the folder described above and rename the “Adobe After Effects 9.0 Tastaturbelegung.txt” (or something like that) to “Adobe After Effects 9.0 Shortcuts.txt” and then you got the German shortcuts on a German keyboard in an English AE interface. Then just use the “ü” button for maximizing frames.

    I hope it helps

    Cheers

  • Which drivers did you update in the days before? Any changes to the system? Tried a system restore? WIN or MAC?
What do you mean by saying “deleted OpenGL”?
Did you run an update on After Effects?

Do a RAM test (use the program “Memtest”) to check if your RAM is ok.
    Try defragmenting.

This is what I came up. Don’t have more ideas. Sorry

This is true for the american standard, but here in Europe we have the same camera with 25p instead of 30p

    Hi Mark

    1. It was handed over
    2. 25F (progressive)
    3. Yes, with a XH-A1
    4. Standard MPEG HDV codec used in the Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 Presets (HDV 25p)

Yeah, the red shirt was really a bad idea. I see this now.
But it wouldnt be that bad if I didn’t have this field interpolation issues. Still trying to solve it by exporting a test clip from Premiere using the Media Encoder.

In Premiere I do see the same field problems, really extreme. The footage is interpet as 25p in Premiere but when I right-click the footage in the timeline and choose Field Options -> Always Deinterlace it gets better. I assume it just deletes every second line and interpolates it again from the one above.

How would you convert the MPEGs to a different AE-friendly format?

It was all so easy until now…I don’t know what’s happening here
