You may need to disable resample to avoid the motion blur.

I don’t think text has changed for a long long time. But I could be wrong, and it wouldn’t hurt to take Pro 16 for a spin with the free trial. I was using 12 forever and it won me over.

This is possible to do but it would not be easy. Titles and Text has an animation called dropping words that can handle the text animation. But the movment is the hard part. I did a test project. I took a big picture of the moon and parented 4 tracks all in 3D compositing mode. I put the picture in different angles and locations so you would have to spin the camera to see the others. Thats maybe part of the trick for the movement. You may need to use the parent motion in 3D compositing mode as well. The video bus track can give you the motion blur when the camera pans and rolls around. The fire I would just find a fire element somewhere and put it at the top probably with add compositing mode. There also the shake which I would add a shake effect to each track. I don’t think vegas comes with one though. I use hitfilm shake a lot, I think newblue has something called active camera that might do it as well, and im sure theres others unless vegas does have one that i”m not away of. I also notice a slight fish eye effect you might want to add maybe with sphereize. There may also be depth of field going on, but for that I think you would be completely SOL. Basically this is super hard to do, and even harder than that to make it look good. instead of the 3D compositing mode you may be able to substitute a very large picture you pan and zoom around.

So you think keying is involved to make it easier? One thing I noticed is you can see kind of a cross fade happening probably when two tracks are blinding together whenever a new parachute point is made. In my attempt at this I created a short video of a frog face going across a random landscape.

Experimented with a few techniques and compositing modes. It’s almost certainly some magical masking going on. The best result came from starting a video Pausing at a point I want to make a copy then setting up a freeze frame at cursor. After that copy the video again to the track below (or make a bunch of copies ahead of time) then make a mask around what you want to stay in place. Then just keep working downward with more video tracks and masks. When it comes time for everything to play that part breaks my brain. Let me know if you or anyone else figures it out.

I think I might be able to recreate something similar to the beginning but then when everything starts moving together at the end I’m not sure. I’m gonna try to make a simple version of this to try and figure it out.

Interesting. If someone pointed a gun at my head and told me I had to create an effect like that in vegas or else I think I would have an additional ventilation point. But if I were to give it a go… Maybe you could create something like that through complex masking. But it would be something you would never want to do as the order of difficulty would likely exceed that of even rotoscoping. My next thought would be to use a motion trails effect, either through a 3rd party plugin or using the video bus track. But this will also create visual blur and could not account for the points when the footage freezes in place. Can this be done in vegas? I dunno. I’d be curious to hear what some other long time vegas users think. Grazie you usually get into this visual effect stuff too.

March 31, 2019 at 3:49 am in reply to: Random flickering after rendering videoI’m not sure but it might be the particular project was overlaying several graphics intensive effects or more so than you usually do. When I used to do that and I had GPU on stuff like that would happen to me, but it may vary system to system.
