I think what Ole or I suggested is probably the best way to go, just gotta decide which one adds the most annoyance.

I have a similar problem when trying to reduce clip volume and grabbing the audio envelope instead. But to try and help you with your problem I do not know a way. You could lock a clip to the timeline while would disable the opacity slider but then you cant move the clip till you unlock it. So my best work around would be working with the selection edit tool instead of the normal edit tool. You can still click on and move clips, it will disable the on clip buttons/sliders so if you want to go into pan crop or fx etc you would need to right click and select them.

it may be that you have to click the button to the right of the value. If you change rotate somewhere and it changes it through out the whole duration of the event it sounds like you haven’t clicked for that value to animate as for most of the plugins in vegas you have to individually select that you want to animate them. While some other only require you to press a single animate button. This is what it sounds like to me, I hesitated to answer because I’m really not sure. It may also be a bug, and I can’t test because I don’t have the plugin you are testing.

If you switch off lock events to envelopes do they still go flat when you delete?

I always wanted Vegas and Hitfilm to be one program. Even though it all ready has integration I don’t like using the add hitfilm effect option because I don’t know how to save or change the effect later and it just feels clunkier than just doing it without add hitfilm effect. But this still sounds like they are going to be separate. Don’t care too much about the image editing, you can all ready do a fair amount of image editing in vegas or hitfilm and I could also take it into free options like paint, gimp or krita. Sounds like they are bring imerge pro into the suite. Guess I’ll wait for more details.
