Hey there. The last version of MS I used was 10 had composite envelopes so I’m sure 16 does as well. To insert a composite envelope right click on the track you want it on, I disable headers but it should work on the track on the main body of the media. From here you will have a line going down the center of the track, you can create points and adjust them up or down, with 2 points you can create a gradual opacity reduction.

Pan crop zoom. Like Grazie said the interpolation will help it look smoother. Maybe add motion blur by animating one of the blur effects, maybe even try the real motion blur using the video bus track.

I’m not sure whats going on but they might be grouped somehow. Selecting clips and press U ungroups them and G groups. One thing to try for your situation is to click the button in the picture, it will ignore all event grouping while it is on which may allow you to delete the clip without issue.

that really weird, i’ve used 12 on 3 different computers and never saw anything like that. Can I see some screen shots of your timeline, the fx chain of the clip(s) and any above or below it.

Well to have any text image or any other media (if it’s video it may loop around back to the beginning) be extended it’s as simple as hovering you cursor at the end of the event on your timeline, click and now you can extend it as long as you want.

Just to concur with George. The only “transitions” I saw were cuts to black followed by immediate fade in. To have the same effect in VEGAS have the following clip fade in by dragging the cursor from the top left of the clip on the timeline. This is with no transition applied. The length of the drag should be only a few frames to have the same effect but it can be as long as you want. Another way to achieve the effect is by overlaying a solid color plane and fading it in or out, this can sometimes be a better solution depending on how many layers you are dealing with.

Can you show us an example of what you consider a seamless transition. Every transition is there be it longer or shorter effect. Obviously a jump cut would be the most seamless because there is no transition. You could go for a slight cross fade of a few frames. Other than that you are looking at some sort of masking movement or distortion leading into the next clip. So if you want that to be quick and minimalist. The roll transition from newbluefx is not bad when used with a 1/3 of a second of transition time (10 frames for 30fps 20 for 60fps). Even with 3rd party plugins when it comes to transitions VEGAS is probably the weakest out of the NLE space. The built in transitions with VEGAS aren’t bad but aren’t great. You might like the crosseffect a/b blur but it will still be noticeable.

I still don’t understand the benefit of expanded edit mode. Whenever I accidentally activate it I cant hit escape fast enough.
