How can this transitional effect be replicated?

In each transition, there seems to be upwards/downwards movement as well. But it looks so much smoother than what I ‘ve managed to achieve using position automation..

Hi Jake! Which PA are you using? Any KeyFrame can have a variety types of interpolation. Not at PC right now, but Right or Left click on a KeyFrame and you should get a drop down menu for Hold, Smooth, Slow, Fast, Linear etc etc. Experiment with these to get the type of response you want.

Pan crop zoom. Like Grazie said the interpolation will help it look smoother. Maybe add motion blur by animating one of the blur effects, maybe even try the real motion blur using the video bus track.
