Hey Grazie are you saying you’re trying to tell him to light green screens evenly? I didn’t know he was filming it himself, I was just suggesting one way to get rid of the remaining green.

I’ve seen that on footage before as well, usually something I ripped which it sounds like you did too. As you say it’s specific to certain files. I’m not sure if there is anything you can do. But you could try some youtube video download sites, I have relied on them more and more as youtube keeps making it harder to download anything. Someone else will likely know more.

You can add a second chroma key effect and map it to the remaining green. Use some blur the smooth out the edges. The VEGAS chroma key is good for really clean screens unless but not so great for anything rough (unless you are marco from the vegas forum).

I have a similar problem with hitfilm, i tried in install an earlier version, something got messed up with file association, so I tried to manually change it, which worked but it made it so every composite or file I get through hitfilm shows up there now and usually pushes the useful project files out of the history.

1. The timeline is so very good and easy to use.
2. I’ve tried Davinci or at least the free version, it’s good, it’s amazing for being free. I’ve tried Hitfilm which I use regularly but as a compositor. Using it for editing has gotten better over the years but even when I try to give the editor function another chance I struggle and get frustrated even for small projects. I’ve also used Camtasia which in terms of timeline functionality and ease of use might be my second favorite but I don’t think it’s quite on the professional spectrum and makes no claim to be, also used windows movie maker. Editing has always felt faster and better in vegas.
3. I’ve had issues with .mov files. Some work just fine other crash the second I hover over them. I feel like it’s better than it use it. Also have problems with some .mts? or whatever it is files, again sometimes they are perfect other times they make vegas explode, in these cases I convert them.
4. I don’t have a great computer for 4k editing though I can and have done it but it really eats up the ram with only 16gig you probably would be better with 32+. So if I’m editing 4K I create proxy files which is something vegas can do then I can edit no problem, rendering will still take a while though. -
I sort of get what you are saying. when you zoom in based where the line cursor is rather than where the mouse cursor is. I find this annoying sometimes. I don’t know a work around, some things you might not know that might help, if you hold shift and scroll up or down you will scroll horizontally, if you click in the mouse wheel you can quickly move around the timeline with the mouse in all directions. If you can program your mouse buttons at all you can change the mousewheel click to click+alt and turn on the magnifier on windows, now if you depress the click wheel and scroll you can digitally zoom in and out on the screen, I use it all the time, it’s nice for when you are far from the screen just want to zoom in and great for screen capture videos. Hope some of this helps.
