  • How to separate videos that are linked?

Posted by Guibson Krause on June 18, 2019 at 2:18 pm

Hello, I’m a beginner at Sony Vegas. I have a problem and I do not know how to solve it. A piece of the video that is at the end of my video track is kind of linked to a piece that is at the beginning of the track, so if I’m going to delete the last piece also delete the piece that is in the beginning? So if I select the video that is at the end of the track the video of the beginning is also selected altomaticamente, and I do not want this to happen because I need to delete the video from the end.

Hi Guibson! Firstly, it’s no longer SONY VP. SONY sold VP to MAGIX in 2016. Secondly, I can’t tell what you’ve done. OK, can you MOVE the END Event to the RIGHT away from the other Events, without them moving too?

I’m not sure whats going on but they might be grouped somehow. Selecting clips and press U ungroups them and G groups. One thing to try for your situation is to click the button in the picture, it will ignore all event grouping while it is on which may allow you to delete the clip without issue.

Hi Dimitrios, that’s why I was wanting our chum to see if he could demonstrate some “grouped activity” whilst moving the last Event. Using this method would mean that he would see just what is attached where and probably how to just U and then G. The Ungroup method is a bit of a Nuclear option and may just create issues of rogue Events being ungrouped. It would be good to hear from him.
