recompress them with compressor…..don’t know the sequence specs you’re working with, but DV NTSC should work

Dupe the clip to V2, place a shape matte and center and size to the logo. Add gaussian blur. as the object moves, keyframe the center of the matte.

I’ve never come across this problem. But here’s a workaround until someone comes up with what the source problem is.
Place .psd 2 on layer above .psd 1. Have .psd 2 overlaps .psd 1 by however many frames you want the dissolve to be.
Right click .psd 2, select open in viewer. Now go to the motion tab, and set keyframes under the opacity option to have the file fade in over the duration of the the dissolve.

FCP’s default standard def NTSC is 480 pixels tall. Chances are, you’re still going to have to render. Adjust your realtime settings while editing to compensate.

export the green screen clip as a reference file with some handles, them reimport and use that as your footage on the timeline.
I suppose in theory that this could also be done by nesting the greenscreen clips, but I’ve never tried it.

how do you know the drives work? If they are spinning up and not mounting, the problem could be in your raid controller. Is it possible to pull the drive and plug it directly into the computer?

like Raphael said, check the permissions on the file using the get info dialog….I’ve had to go so far as to add a new user/administrator. you can also try duplicating the file to your local drive.

I’m not positive that it does, but I believe the flicker filter in FCP 5.04 had de-interlace in the drop down menu as the last setting in the list, so I was always under the assumption that depending on the strength filter you were applying, you were getting varying degrees of De-interlace, which made no sense since I’d apply the flicker filter to problematic text/pics that shouldn’t have been interlaced in the first place.

as far as I know, Scene Detect is not a feature available in Final Cut.
