Hey everyone, I’ve run into a little issue, I’m working on a project on a computer at work and I want to bring it home with me. However, I’m working AVID v.3 at work and FCP v.5 at home. My idea was to export a quicktime and then re-import it into FCP.

I know about automatic duck but I don’t have the money for that. My workflow: 4:3 DV/DVCPRO NTSC Interlaced 720×486; both computers are powermac G5’s.

I’ve tried several quicktime exports but all come into final cut pro unrendered or with a the improper size. What are the best settings for this export?

    DV NTSC 720X480

FCP’s default standard def NTSC is 480 pixels tall. Chances are, you’re still going to have to render. Adjust your realtime settings while editing to compensate.
