  • there is no limitation on using the academic version commercially

no is there a watermark or other limitation

however, you cannot upgrade beyond dot increases, and you have to qualify as an student in order to buy an academic version

if you have 5.1.2, then it has the same functionality as the retail version

Firestore FS100 will record continuous. P2 cards are hot swappable, and Cineporter, another DTE solution will be released next year.

AE will not read the mxf data directly from the cards.

I’ve archiving to removable SATA drives on a Mac Pro.

Bunch of protective bag choices out there.

There are always issues with workflow – probably better to ask directly because different workflow presents different issues.

  • This was implemented with the release of FCP 5.1.2.

As to awesome dude, it more functional and modal, which I think are better descriptions.

    5.1.2 is a free download

Apart from velcroing a $6000.00 camera, I wonder about whether the velcro will contribute to heat build up with the battery.

Wish we could fix this BEFORE it breaks.

Asked that of Jan, and she said no.

There is some confirmation that Panasonic will repair after warranty period as this appears to be a design defect.

But I’d prefer Jan to confirm that.

I’m one of the ones probably railing the most about the movement.

I don’t mind a little, but a bunch of us who viewed gave it up because it was too distracting.

You actually got a little seasick.

Anyway, maybe we’ll give it a try again.

[todd mcmullen] “We use it as an additional camera and as a football camera for Friday Night Lights.
Check it out on Tuesdays on NBC. see if you can tell what is 16mm and what is p2.
we shoot it at 720p 24fps. Todd McMullen”

Any chance Todd that the production team could stop the excess jerkiness look to an otherwise interesting show.

It turned us off, and at least six other couples who were so distracted by the excessive movement.
