November 29, 2006 at 5:31 amI don’t think they are used on any network TV shows, but we certainly used them in my History Channel Show THE MEXICAN AMERICAN WAR…two of them. Alongside a Varicam. And we will use them again in ANDREW JACKSON, also for The History Channel.

November 29, 2006 at 4:30 pmCool…it is used in network TV. And yes, in the hands of a good DP and colorist, you’ll be hard pressed to tell the difference.
Todd…tell your camera guys to stop shaking the camera so dang much. I think this is the best new show on TV, but I have trouble watching it. The camera motion makes me ill…and I am not the only one.
I couldn’t handle ANY GIVEN SUNDAY (couldn’t tell WHAT was going on) and Friday Night Lights the movie.
Just tone it down a little. Yeah, I know that you probably won’t, because this look is dictated by the Producers and directors…just letting you know that it is difficult to watch.
Great show.

It turned us off, and at least six other couples who were so distracted by the excessive movement.

November 29, 2006 at 5:52 pmI know for a fact that the camera is being used in two network shows, Numbers and Bones. It is used where there is not enough space to put the full size camera and also for various wide shots and on a Jib for overheads. On a recent episode of Numbers which dealt with baseball the entire opening sequence was shot on the HVX200.
