Thanks for the input on our camera work on Friday Night Lights. It indeed has been toned down. It is funny because
we use 3 cameras on everything and we do not set out to make it shaky or zoomy. It is that when you have 3
cameras shooting a scene with no marks or no rehearsals you sometimes, many times, have to make camera adjustments during the shot.
So the editors have been using those adjustments, which end up giving it the look that is has. But it is a very rewarding and fresh approach to TV drama.

And we use the HVX for a lot of 1st unit and additional photography. It is most useful for sending a camera and crew into a football game and it not looking like a camera crew.

oh we are moving to wednesday nights on nbc.

    cheers

[todd mcmullen] “oh we are moving to wednesday nights on nbc.”

So does that mean you have to change the title of the show? 🙂

[Dean Sensui] “So does that mean you have to change the title of the show? :-)”

If that were the case, it would have been called MONDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. At least it was on when people were used to watching Monday Night Football. Too bad Friday is date night and not good for TV…otherwise that would be the PERFECT place….hmmm, I take that back. Everyone in Texas is out watching football. Wednesday is good. Now that LOST is on haitus.

Yes, us editors tend to favor the most shakey shots at times.

I’m one of the ones probably railing the most about the movement.

I don’t mind a little, but a bunch of us who viewed gave it up because it was too distracting.

You actually got a little seasick.

Anyway, maybe we’ll give it a try again.
