December 3, 2006 at 5:21 pmIn Los Angeles, it appears to be a two day time frame.
Where are you?

December 4, 2006 at 12:03 amEver since I heard this was becoming a problem I have been very careful to insert and remove the battery. I read in a post a while back that Panasonic has addressed this problem for the next version of the camera. Before my warrenty runs out can a person take the camera in to have these modifications done?

December 4, 2006 at 4:39 pmAsked that of Jan, and she said no.
There is some confirmation that Panasonic will repair after warranty period as this appears to be a design defect.
But I’d prefer Jan to confirm that.

December 5, 2006 at 1:38 amSome shooters, as I have, installed pieces of velcro to support the battery in the camera, rather than allow the plastic tabs to support the battery’s weight.
I used the loop side of the velcro which is stiffer than the pile side. So far my battery tabs have remained intact. I did the same for my P2 Store.

December 5, 2006 at 1:47 amInteresting. So you add the velcro to the bottom of the housing where the battery sits. I’ll have to try that.

December 5, 2006 at 9:08 amI put them above and below. That pretty much locks the battery in and keeps it from going anywhere.

December 5, 2006 at 4:15 pmApart from velcroing a $6000.00 camera, I wonder about whether the velcro will contribute to heat build up with the battery.
Wish we could fix this BEFORE it breaks.

After near 4 days of shooting and starting this post the top tabs are done. i had been very … extremely cautious of this problem, i had heard of it right before i received my hvx.Dean good call on the velcro after warnaty im going to try that or something to wedge on top and bottom to keep the batterys waight centered.
