Interestingly, a gentleman over at dvxuser.com says that no driver is needed to mount the cam in the Firewire mode on Intel Macs.

He claims it works without a driver for Intel Macs.

You can edit straight from the mxf files using Raylight for the Mac.

    Google it.

If you do not have the DVCProHD codecs installed on that G4, I don’t believe HD Monitor is going to work with that codec.

Always good to spend a few minutes reading the release notes accessed by the help menu.

    V. 3 will give you 3 hours or so of 720/24pN equivalent.

I bought a bebob box and mount it under the cam.

Use a right angle 4 pin connector for FW transfers with it attached to the cam using a tension point.

We shoot run and gun college sports. Not the best solution but really the only one for long form.

Use the encode settings consistent with the total length of your video in minutes.

Use the Dolby2/ac3 audio setting and then import the resulting ac3 and m2v files into DVD SP.

Do not use the aiff audio file.

    Use quality DVD R blanks.

Now I wish that some manufacturer would have a Macintosh MacPro card that was compatible.

When you said, you “wrote” to the card, are you saying out of your NLE?

    Which one?

Help me out here, but do you believe a company is legitimately selling this cam for 45% less than everybody else?

Toast 8 has a DVD spanning capability that might work on a Mac.
