Thanks for correcting me Tom, I’m new to both FCP and MAC, so my brain is a bit overwhelmed at this point learning new Control/Command/Shift options.

Shift – click on the cut and add your crossfade to Video and connected audio tracks

Actually, many Avid editors I know have complained about instability issues with Avid Xpress, and many are switching over to FCP.

Or you can display HDV on the timeline to a SD monitor using a Decklink Extreme.

The Extreme card will give you all the options you need. Works like a champ. I’ve had mine for almost three weeks now and I couldn’t be happier. I’m using it with a brand new G5, FCP 5 and all the latest patches and drivers. Jason Levy, a regular here, told me that he used his Extreme card over the last year to recapture and master 52 30-min shows, all seamlessly. Do it, you’ll be happy…

You are in luck, I spent several hours dinking with the same issue yesterday. Here’d the fix… Set the input audio to anything other than Decklink and it will work…

Project directory imported from Tutorial DVD as “Read Only”… That was the problem…

There are several good places to buy DVDs — the one I’m posting here has always been very reliable… http://www.genesysdtp.com/ Of course I derive no benefit from promoting them and no kickbacks, but, I do get a kick from champaigne.
