When sending picture from the FCP timeline out to Motion, creating a composite, and then sending that back to FCP… is the newly created video track a reference to the original, or is it actual rendered video? In other words, will it be be rendered again when conforming at the end of the project before going back to tape, or does it reference the original and thus only take one compression hit?

    Anybody know???

    TIA,
    DRW

    Hey David,

If your FCP project is using a Motion project as a clip, it only gets compressed when you export your whole FCP project.

I hope you’re right, I have a few hundred bet on this one…
