    Hi Steve

Thanks for the response. The problem seems to come and go without rhyme or reason, but dividing the clips does seems to help. It’s odd that system becomes unsresponsive for a time AFTER I see the changes. I’ve tried purge all, but haven’t noticed any improvement. Apparently the clone tool is just super processor-intense. The paint tool works much faster.

    Hi Kristian

I guess a clean install is the next step. I’ll get back to you in a couple of weeks.

    If anyone’s interested….

This particular disk error is considered quite serious, although for me the only problem was that I couldn’t boot from it. Since it was my secondary disk, I erased it and did a Carbon Copy Clone from my primary disk, then ran Disk Repair, then repaired permissions, and now it boots and appears to work just like it ought to.

I’m just hoping it’s not a hardware issue.

So where did you remap “Re-edit Highlighted Event”?

    Or “Trim In Yo Mama”?

  • I take it that it’s the number of layers rather than the dimensions of the file that are causing you problems. I would flatten it the file as long as I didn’t need to effect the layers individually. If you export to a pict, make it slightly bigger than screen size – ideally the file will be between 1-2 mb. Should be easy enough to deal with then.

If you put your submaster into your master, then the submaster is “live” and if you make changes to that sub, the changes will flow to all instances in your master.

If you want to edit them as separate entities, when you add the submaster to the master you need to hold down the command key, and the result will be that the clips that make up the sub will appear in the master, adn you can change them independently.

I’m using the BM NTSC-DV easy setup- that is, Blackmagic deck control, presumably. It shows no video input. If I use the BM NTSC-DV50 setup, then I see video.

Is there something I should do differently?
