May 16, 2006 at 10:08 pmThe Boris TITLE 3D is what I use, and it is VERY clean and easy to use.
For animated lower thirds, look at Livetype.

May 16, 2006 at 10:11 pmI’d use Title 3D.
Its in the FCP “Generators” choices. It comes from Boris and is included on the FCP install disc(s).

May 17, 2006 at 12:43 pmI like the look of Motion for a lot of text uses.
Nice and clean and very flexible.
Boris Title 3D works well too.kj

May 17, 2006 at 4:47 pmLivetype give you the kind of control you’re used to with Inscriber. Take the time to have someone show you the ropes.
The boris product I found unreliable and didn’t have any kind of accurate preview of what you’re doing. Critical positioning of elements was a frustrating joke.
Motion is kind of overkill when you see all the neat fx in Livetype. Go with Livetype. And do a search under Inscriber this has been discussed in depth. 🙂

May 17, 2006 at 4:56 pmDoes anyone else wish there was a better title solution with FCP? I actually miss the Title Tool from Avid simply because you can see the video underneath the graphic that you are creating. I know that you can export a still or ref movie and pull that into LiveType, but it’s an extra step that is a bit annoying. Sometimes the Title 3D graphics seem a bit soft to me as well, so I’ve been using LiveType a bit more lately. Or Photoshop.

May 18, 2006 at 7:32 pmNow that I’ve got Motion wired, it’s by far the most powerful titling tool in FCS.
.
Doing repetitive stuff? Look into streamlining your workflow with AutoMotion, which works with Motion.
Looks like an excellent tool for managing large lists of names, lower thirds, etc.
