  • Hi Dan

I was hoping you’d reply. This was the solution. Thank you so much!

This link might be helpful. https://lesterbanks.com/2020/04/easy-path-arrow-preset-creates-arrows-for-ae/. This is a tutorial that locks an arrowhead (or. an RV) to a path and orients it to the direction of the path.

    Hey Alex

Thanks for researching this. I’m not using KeyedUp, but I’m trying to modify a shortcut by editing the “Adobe After Effects 12.2 Mac en_US Shortcuts.txt” file directly.

I want to swap “GoToTIme” (something I would use al the time) with “Group” (something I would never use).

So when I carefully edit the text, save the file and invoke After Effects, I not only get an error message (After Effects detected an unexpected value in your shortcuts file), but it remembers the original values.

    I’m totally stumped. Any insight?

I don’t know, but for the time being I’ll either try to remember to delete the extraneous artboard, or just use the Basic RGB profile, which behaves normally.

I mean artboards. Here’s what I’ve learned. Any document that I create using the Video and Film profile, even if the Number of Artboards dropdown in the New Document dialog box is set to 1, the new document will have two artboards – the one I intended and another on that is 14400×14400 pixels.

This doesn’t happen with any non-Video and Film preset.

What’s odd is that when I looked at the Video and Film profile in the New Document folder in Application Support, that file has only one artboard.

I’m running Illustrator CS 5.1 on a MacPro running 10.6.8, but I also have the same problem on a MacBook Pro running CS5.1 under 10.6.8

The problem does not occur in Illustrator CS4.

So I got hung up on the fact that in Motion, the Media Tab doesn’t give you the typical None/Ignore, Straight, Black etc. Alpha dropdown for for Illustrator files. Motion still utilizes the alpha.

I scratched my head for a while and figured it out., and the answer is: Operator Error. Motion doesn’t show choices for alpha in the Media Tab for illustrator files, but it stil recognizes the alpha.

Well, the odd thing is that vector art from PowerPoint works just fine, but if I then use Illustrator to make alterations, I lose the ability to have an alpha channel. Very perplexing.
