There’s really only one reason Flip4Mac fails to run: improper installation or authorization. If it stops, does it stop at the exact same place very time? Do both of these apps stop at the exact same place?
We use Flip on a daily basis. The settings are confusing but we get excellent results. Not sure but I think Sorenson requires Flip to do WMVs. Haven’t used a Sorenson product for many years.

You’ll need to figure out how to do that by reading the manual. When you preview, the null should slide around the track.
Next, parent the camera to the null (umm, manual again). The camera should now fly around the track. You can change the spatial relationship between the null and the camera by offsetting the camera’s anchor point. you can offset the null’s anchor point to change how it relates to the motion path. You can select how the camera stays oriented, either to the path or not.It’s not complicated but it’s not simple.

You might be able to find the original articles from American Cinematographer. They used, if memory serves, two techniques: fluorescent paints with heavy UV lighting on the set and retroreflective items (I don’t think prismatic fabrics were available back then) lit by a camera-mounted instrument.

Yar, this is a tough nut. You can add 180 degrees of Z rotation but that only lines up the columns, they’re still out of position left to right.
I think you nail down your design very early and build the backside in PS as a series of repositioned slices. Tedious. I don’t see any other way to get the pieces to be where you want them to be. the only time I’ve ever used a backside on Card Dance was with solid colors. Or, if the backside was an image, it was usually part of a blow away-type of effect.

Wirecast is kinda cool but, if you’re switching sports, it’s not going to work for you; you need a real multiple input video switcher and the output from the switcher will feed the Macintosh.

Those are separate text effects. One types on the characters, one moves the text. You can do one or the other but probably not both at the same time.
If you need each character to appear as if typed on, that’s easy, use search int he manual. if you need the character to type on and have the rest of the characters move down the scroll…I’m not sure how that can be done in FCP.Maybe Motion?

“35mm is 2k or 4k depending on your rig or your lab’s requirements. Find out long before you start work.
4k and 2k are standard presets in AE.
Beware, 4k is an unbelievably HUGE work area, roughly 4000 by 3000 pixels. That’s 12,000,000 pixels that have to get rendered for EVERY FRAME.bogiesan
