scrolling text
Posted by Chris Mendes on January 13, 2009 at 9:45 pmI was just wondering if there was a facility on Final Cut Pro 6 that will let me create a scrolling text effect, where it looks like the text is being typed onto the screen?

January 14, 2009 at 12:02 amThose are separate text effects. One types on the characters, one moves the text. You can do one or the other but probably not both at the same time.
If you need each character to appear as if typed on, that’s easy, use search int he manual. if you need the character to type on and have the rest of the characters move down the scroll…I’m not sure how that can be done in FCP.Maybe Motion?
Not a big deal using text animators in AE.bogiesan

January 14, 2009 at 6:08 amYou can do both. If you can find a write on filter in FCP, apply it to the text then animate the layer in the ‘motion’ tab. This effect can also be easily created in live type or Motion, which will actually render better text then the FCP text engine, IMHO.
