Thumbs up Jeremy,
Once you are in there for a while, there is a lot that happens that you forget about until you go back. Then you can really feel the difference.
Everyday, it’s faster, smarter and smoother.
XML, OMF and some tweaks it’s a hands down, tight, createive tool.

[Lance Moody] “How might this be accomplished in FCPX since you can’t put a transition on anything except the bottommost clip.”
Create a secondary storyline and you can do the wipe.
All the rest is easy and possible.

You only are viewing one field in the FCP canvas and viewer windows. The jump is probably the missing field.

duplicate the sequence.
Selct all of the titles and the CUT.
Change the aspect ratio of the sequence.
Paste the text into the new sequence.
The text will all be the correct aspect ratio now.

Yes. Yes.
A big fat smile.
I like the prescision editor because of what I see when it is open.
It’s easy enough to trim things up after using the prescision editor.
Overall the trimming in FCP X is very slick.
I like it a lot.
🙂

I have found the trimming in FCP X to be far superior to any NLE I have ever used.
by about a mile.

August 10, 2011 at 7:47 am in reply to: Importing Not Complete – Clip Preview not workingBut it sound like the import was not completed when you closed off the clip and the application.
Plus I used a smilely face to indicate that I was making a joke.
I’m a good reader. I read a lot.
Analysis and transcoding can be done later. Select all the clips and then use the menu function analyze.
Of course it can be done after the fact. But if the clips weren’t there then they had not completed the import.
