  • Text resizing on export – why?!

    Hi guys,

I’ve been trying for hours to work around this and have now had enough!

I’ve 16×9 footage on a timeline, putting text on it, exporting it uncompressed anamorphic. Text is staying the same size so when the QT is imported into DVD Studio (or just played) the text is the wrong aspect ratio and becomes stretched out on a 16×9 screen.

    What am I missing here?

I’m using an old FCP 4.5, footage is QT imports, sequence settings are the in built DV PAL 48k ones.

    It’s wrecking my head now!

    Best

    Alex

    duplicate the sequence.

Selct all of the titles and the CUT.

Change the aspect ratio of the sequence.

Paste the text into the new sequence.

The text will all be the correct aspect ratio now.

    Great! Thanks very much.

While I was waiting for a reply, I just tried changing the export settings too – seemed daft but anamorphic 1024×576 has also fixed the issue.

Just couldn’t work out why the text was doing it’s own thing independently of the timeline… (used to Avid and Media 100)

Cheers for the alternative answer 🙂
