Sounds like a still. Turn off the still before you hit render.

The real panels are a must for 3d work. I’m working on a project now. It has huge convergence issues. I cant imagine trying to do get it done without them.

I did the same thing. I liked seeing the the actual resolutions of each file. I too do not have a red rocket card and playback performance is not important at this stage. I use the highest settings, conform the material and render out 2k dpx’s for color correction.

I do change the performance just before the render to do my conform check against the offline.. This makes it easier to get around the time line. I then change it back to max for the render / debayer.

I would love to have a cinetal davio to ensure a true Rec.709. Sadly it is not in the budget at this time..

My set up has been tweaked in by my eye against a calibrated crt. Lets just say its very close.

I cant get my head around using the davio to make a true rec709 and doing something that the plasma, lcd or dlp cannot do. It is not really helping how it looks in the real world.
That being said I would love to have the new Dolby with a davio for daily proof that the thing is not drifting and I am seeing the same images every day. So I fire up my crt and my plasma and check it as much as possible with my eye.. “How dare eye”

I would however go for a set of panels before that purchase 🙂

I think / hope they are working on this as well.. On lower budget projects that want to keep a qt workflow I’m being forced to jump back into the editor to marry the audio to the color corrected files.
I too would like to avoid this extra step.

I thought this was a blog.. lol Guess I need to do some more homework.. Always learning..

Tim, I am just about finished with the entire process. Conform, Color correction and now working on the dcp. xyz 16bit tiffs to the final dcp package.
At the same time diving into several more workflows and delivery requirements.. I have documented some interesting info.
Looking forward to meeting soon.

Thanks everyone. I am using the hdmi out of the black magic card. 🙂 I still need to do some surgery on the atto card but going to switch out the $1600 card for the $600 first.

I may get someone in to do a pro calibration however the “secret settings” I was given are looking very very very very close to the calibrated crt.

I have been using this process to conform and color correct a feature shot at 4k on red.
I worked great!!!
