I agree! I guess the thought is its not really a proxy at that point. What I do is render my r3d conform to dpx and parse preconform from edl.

To be safe a data base back up before the upgrade is a great idea.NOTE: The comments above are strictly mine, and may not necessarily

June 28, 2011 at 7:38 pm in reply to: thanks apple and goodbye color…hello my new best friendKim I understand completly. I’m still milking out my old 08 mac pro.
I really dont want to buy a 3rd mac pro.. Considering the current developments with apple, I may never buy another one. 🙂Sounds like we come from similar telecine backgrounds. Much respect.

June 28, 2011 at 4:57 pm in reply to: thanks apple and goodbye color…hello my new best friendMaybe negative was the wrong choice of words.. How is reluctant to change, and clearly afraid to spend the needed cash on a good product.. ” Ipad for a control surface..” come on..Kim. lol
Remember when a color bay cost about 1.5 million to build..Coming from the professional post house with professional tools my sights were set high.
I too built a final cut system when it first arrived on the market. I did a few jobs. It worked but not that well. I built a final touch bay, played around with speed grade, lustre, evan premier pro. Now it was getting better but still way off the pro mark.. Then mac killed final touch and it was down hill from there.
I’m now able to run at home with what I use at the office. The only thing I feel its missing is real time functionality. The 2k paired with a clipster or hdcamsr is a awesome tool.NOTE: The comments above are strictly mine, and may not necessarily
