I’ve been trying to figure out a good way to do this but haven’t been able to yet.

I’m basically going through a music video on RED, and the editor gave me a reference file with quite a few frame resizes. Those are not automatically reflected in the EDL, so I’m going through and doing it by hand.

Is there any way to have the reference video overlayed in the format window so that I can easily and dead on resize my frames to match the offline?

You can use Offline Wipe, and one of the wipe modes where you see an overlay of the wiped images over the live image to do this.

    Quick steps:

    1. Grab a still
    2. Activate your wipe (Play Still)
    3. Toggle Wipe Mode to Offline (Gallery->TimeLine->Offline)
    4. Toggle Wipe Shape to Wipe-M

Of course this is assuming you have the offline clip set up correctly in the conform page.

    Rohit does it again..

I have been using this process to conform and color correct a feature shot at 4k on red.
    I worked great!!!
