Just out of curiosity, why are you converting the pics to .png? Unless you’re needing to keep a transparent alpha channel?

I would uninstall Kline and Vegas, reinstall Vegas and this new code.

I couldn’t open it in Media player or Vegas. So I downloaded the codec for it here,
    https://www.free-codecs.com/lagarith_lossless_video_codec_download.htm
Now Vegas opens and renders it fine. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

I don’t believe uninstalling it will help as Sony’s codecs have already been over written. Codec packs are never a good idea. If there’s a specific one you need, find it and install it, not any packs. You may have to uninstall the pack and Vegas, re-install Vegas. It seems Vegas doesn’t like these files. Can you capture as mpg or something Vegas will work with? Did it come with any software that can convert the files to something more Vegas friendly? Can you open them with Windows movie maker and export to another file. .AVI is just a wrapper and can still contain unusable codecs in Vegas. John R, you know more about this than me. Got any other ideas?

Loading K-lite codec Wasn’t a good idea. It over writes better codecs that Vegas may already have. Did it not play these files before you installed the K-lite? Do you have an online storage site you can upload a small one of these clips we can download and test for you?

  • Yes, you’re right. I never watched the video, just looked at the aspect ratios. Good eye.

    Yes.

  • Place two 4×3 videos on the timeline, one on track one and another on track 2. Now on the right side of the top video there’s a square icon. It’s call pan and crop. click it and select 16 x 9 in the preset dropdown window. This will give you this effect. Hope this helps, Danny
