Yu can also just double click on the main video in the time line to set the loop markers. Then in the render window check the render looped region only. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

I dont believe Vegas will record video from a camcorder and audio from a sound card at the same time and automaticlly put them in sync on the timeline. Some camcorders have an external mic input for just that. But syncing is easy. Just clap your hands to make a spike in the wave form recorded from the camera and the other mic. Place them both on the time line, zoom in and drag the spikes in sync. Then muts the camera audio track. Thats what the original “Take 1” clack sound was and is still used for.

You tube will re-encode everything that is uploaded to them I hear. Alot of people are using mp4 format. I would make it the highest quality without going over the 100 mbit limit. Hope this helps.

If your not seeing it in Vegas, I would go to creativelabs and download the latest drivers for that Audigy card and update them. The audigy is not really a great card for pro audio but I’ve used one in Vegas and could see all the inputs and outputs, Could even mix surround sound with it. Do you have any other audio or video programs that let you select the audio card in that you can see if they see it? Do you have the software for the card that came with it? There should be a mixer and utility that allows you to set up the surround sound settings for it if I remember correctly.

You tube re-encodes every video sent in and must have a coflict with your MP4. Send in some other formats that can be under the 100 meg limit and see the results. Free Itunes can encode videos for Iphones ,MP4 which you can also try. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

I don’t use Compressor but Vegas, Procoder and other converters have a H.264 preset for Ipods and Iphones. I make MP4s with Vegas and they look good on my Iphone. I also doownloaded a video of mine from you Tube and it looks great on my Iphone too.

You can use Keepvid and save as flash or MP4.
    Hope this helps Danny Hays

I needed it to be able to capture audio from screen grabs using Camtasia, but I was hoping that it would sync better with the audio on the timeline waveform
Do you mean it works but it’s not in sync?
You still should see the Audigy in your preferences, audio device.
Do you see it in your Windows audio devices?
If not Check your device manager to see if it’s load correctly. Danny

Place the curser at the place you want to split and hit the s key. Then just drag the piece to another track. Hope this helps.

Are you double clicking on the envelope line to add points where you want to start and stop the slow down? Danny Hays

October 6, 2008 at 3:34 am in reply to: Question about mono to stereo in Vegas

I would seperate the channels as you said but only use the lav track. The speed of sound is slow enough that depending on the distance difference from the subject and each mic can cause some frequencies to be cancled out. You can re-sync each audio track to minimize this as long as the distance between each mic does not chance during the recording. Hope this helps. Danny Hays
