I have installed a sound Blaster audigy card to replace the on board sound chip on the mother board of my Dell optiplex 745 dual core 2.13Ghz cpu. I needed it to be able to capture audio from screen grabs using Camtasia, but I was hoping that it would sync better with the audio on the timeline waveform. When I look in preferences I see only microsoft sound mapper, direct sound surround mapper and windows classic wave driver. should I see the new card as an option?
I am plugged into the card now and hear audio.

I have also seen the settings regarding offset recording and settings for the interpolating the offsets hints on how to use those?

Do you mean it works but it’s not in sync?
You still should see the Audigy in your preferences, audio device.
Do you see it in your Windows audio devices?
If not Check your device manager to see if it’s load correctly. Danny

I can see the card in my window device manager, I just can’t tell if vegas is completely utilizing that card. I don’t have it as a choice in the preferences window of Vegas. I have the speakers plugged into the card and I hear audio, but I still have a poor relationship to the waveform on the timeline versus what I hear.

If your not seeing it in Vegas, I would go to creativelabs and download the latest drivers for that Audigy card and update them. The audigy is not really a great card for pro audio but I’ve used one in Vegas and could see all the inputs and outputs, Could even mix surround sound with it. Do you have any other audio or video programs that let you select the audio card in that you can see if they see it? Do you have the software for the card that came with it? There should be a mixer and utility that allows you to set up the surround sound settings for it if I remember correctly.
