I have a huge .wav file that I’m trying to simply separate into different tracks. I tried highlighting a chunk of the track, copying it, and then opening a new file to paste it. But when I try to paste it, it’s not there. What am I doing wrong??? I know this has to be really simple but I can’t figure it out. Please help! Thanks

Place the curser at the place you want to split and hit the s key. Then just drag the piece to another track. Hope this helps.
