I think you can open up the .BAK files as backups or use system restore to before this happened. With important .VEG files I always copy to another drive along with media. Danny Hays

You can also render to DVD compliant mpeg 2 and burn with Nero, Roxio or other burning software. The mpeg 2 and AC3 is the best for Archetect though.

Try closing Vegas, connect camera, turn it on, you should hear beep and see new device found, If not, try a different firewire cable. let it finish until it says ready to use, launch Vegas and select HDV, not DV. If you have captured DV and checked always use this setting you need to reset the settings, Search the help file for capturing HDV and it will show you how. Hope this helps.

I just tried what I think you did and didn’t have that problem. I put a wav on the time line, added a reverb effect to that track, then dragged the edge to shorten the wav and the reverb stopped where the wave did, Are you doing something different than that? Danny

Painting posterboard flat green, or even a wall will work. Depending on how bit of a scene you need. I use a green Muslin. Here’s a link for an inexpensive one.

September 5, 2009 at 3:44 am in reply to: capture audio from difference source

Actually I capture from my HDV and DV cameras straight to disc, without a tape even in the cameras with Vegas. I have to turn down my speakers so I don’t get feedback. But to capture from a firewire camera and a firewire audio interface at the same time on the same computer I have never tried. I always use two computers as it’s very easy to sync up the audio. If you have two seperate firewire cards in your computer you may be able to do it. I don’t so I can’t try it but I am interested in if it’s possible. OnLocation is still way better for direct to disc capturing as it has many tools to help setup your cameras. CS3’s and Serious Magics versions are way better than CS4’s version according to the forums. Danny
