“no device selected”
I have attached the hdr-hc9 to pc, have set project for blu ray 1440×1080, 29970fps and unchecked the use external capture app in prefs.
when I go to capture, the sony capture app shows with “no device attached” It is i-linked into pc.
What have I missed or forgotten to do here?

Try closing Vegas, connect camera, turn it on, you should hear beep and see new device found, If not, try a different firewire cable. let it finish until it says ready to use, launch Vegas and select HDV, not DV. If you have captured DV and checked always use this setting you need to reset the settings, Search the help file for capturing HDV and it will show you how. Hope this helps.

Is your camera set to “HDV OUT”?
