Is this the mobo you’re running?

Yeah, that board does look powerful, but apparently its pretty big and loud too (apparently there was a company building hackintosh ready mac pros off of that board—for $7000, they sure looked fast). I wonder if we’ll even need to stick with Intel chips. That config guide will be an interesting read.

Will there be a solution for Prores on a mac? Perhaps a license like the DNxHD one?

    Hey Danny
Do you have any experience with the 10-bit Flanders? It comes in at a price point that’s close to the Sony PVM. Also, I was under the impression that the PVM had a 10-bit driver, but have been unable to confirm if its a 10 bit display as well (this could be due to a lack of my Google skills though). The Flanders I know for sure has both a 10-bit driver and display.

And if any gets to look at the Sony OLEDs (especially the cheaper PVM), I’d love to see a review (how does that sucker stack up against a Flanders Scientific 10-bit)?

Sounds like it should be… but this doesn’t answer the when.

    Hey David
Would be interested to see a link to the reduser posting… or even feel free to PM me about how this is working for your client?

  • Hey Adrian
Thanks for the link. Do you know if this still holds true for Resolve 8? I remember reading that a hardware upgrade wouldn’t be necessary, but seeing as I’m building it now — I’d love to try and optimize for Resolve 8. Is the GtX 285 and gt 120 combo still going to be the way to go for Mac Pros not using a Cubix?

I feel like this one should actually be a conversation between 2 people, 1 – “Apple’s Final Cut” and 2 – an “editor.”
FCP: Hi, I’m Apple’s Final Cut Pro.
    Editor: And I’m an editor.
FCP: We’ve worked together for a long time.
Editor: Yeah, it’s been really really great.
    FCP: Look over there!
    Editor: (looks) What? What?
At this point, FCP would pull out a knife and stab him in the back.
