I am not at my NLE to retry this, but I had a thought and question for David…. how does your Program or Source Window know which Monitor to control with “JKL” ???

If I use it from the Timeline it controls (displays in)the Program Monitor(s) and I do this all the time but how does one focus the “JKL” control to the Source Monitor? I use the arrow keys to achieve that so its no big deal. ( I am just curious)

In my system “JKL” are shuttle controls for the Timeline Window only and they have no effect in the Source Window.

The break out to mono is available only when the clip is in the Project Window (I think from memory).

It must be a stereo track for it to work…of course.

I do not think there is any default. What do you want to achieve ?

Using a preset to set up a project may be what you are looking for.

Ctl Z is “Undo”

Use DVDate plug in

DVDate is by far the best solution ( and its cheap and versatile and simple)

Is the firewire O.K ? That would be what I would check first.

What are you exporting to the tape ? Does it play o.k on the timeline by itself ?

Jon – I downloaded the trial for PremPro and still can see no way how one would scroll or run the clip while C.C ing. In fact the interface is identical to the AE plug-in that I already use.

I am (just) ok with that in AE but in PremPro it is a function seriously lacking and will stop me from purchasing it. (…and I really want secondary CC). I do not understand how one is supposed to grade a clip based on a single frame without the ability to see the affect over the rest of the clip ( scene).

There is an option to export video , audio or both in the settings menu as well as an option to export Work area bar or Entire project. A combination of these things will do what you want. ( That is if I understood your question properly)

Jon – a question about the Prem version. ( I only have and use the AE vers currently).

Can the clip be “scrubbed” or run in the Prem Version during CC ? The AE version previews / works on a single frame which I find very limiting.
