Even though I use the Dynamic Link to send my projects? It seems to me this should be taken care of with the transcode process.

Label your master title, copy/paste and change the name. Rename each individual title as the players name? Am I missing something?

I think your work flow may be a little bass ackwards. What I normally do, which Im sure will differ with opnion, is build my sequences in PPro and then build any sequences that I will want in After Effects, and then import the AE comp into PPro. Depending on what kind of graphics you are making, you might want to use Illustrator. Photoshop is size restrictive, whereas Illustrator files are essentially vector images and can be stretched/scaled as large as you want.

  • I run into the same problem.

A few things I have noticed though, when you play the DVD is it on a TV or computer monitor? I know that most TV’s these days have a higher resolution than 720×480 which is how Encore encodes DVD’s and your DVD or TV stretches the image across the screen. Same goes for the computer monitor, when it is played at full screen, my movies lose quality, however if they are played at actual size, they are crisp and just the way I intended. Id like to find a way around this without burning Blue-Ray or HDDVD.

In preview, I am in the process of burning a disc to see the final product here.

Are there any other alternatives than using tapes?

It wouldnt be such a hassle if it were a shorter session, but shooting on tape is not only expensive Im sure you know, its also extremely time consuming.

Restart the machine? Trash your prefs? Those usually help me out in a bind.

I usually keep a pad of paper on my desk and annotate my hours worked. Little notes like “930-1100 – Capture”. Doing so helped me realize I was editing rather quickly but I got sidetracked a lot. After removing my distractions, I cut my work time nearly in half. May not help those who get paid hourly, but definitely helps you if its $/project.

  • I had this same problem about 2 weeks ago.

Right click on the image file in FCP. Select Properties>Format. There should be a selection to alter the Alpha channels. I am not in front of an editing machine right now, Im just working from memory. Hope I could help!
