The software is a bit wonky.
First, create a folder on our comp. where the files are going.
When P2CMS asks for a input folder name, type anything, it doesn’t matter, it wants to create its own folder.
Then, you can choose the drop down, on the left, and select the P2 Card mounted. You must see the P2 card mounted on the comp. b/4 u can off-load it.
When you get to copy, select the destination folder you created.

You need an i/o card to lay out to tape.
You are very limited in this area with an iMac.

You need Firwire to Analog i/o such as the outdated AJA IOLA
Also look @ Matrox products.

What are you exporting to?
What is the final delivery?
Shoot 24p, edit 24p. Yes, it’s in a 29.97 stream.

When u add a clip to a NEW/Emty sequence let FCP match it up for you.
View video the proper way, with an i/o card feeding a TV or broadcast monitor. You can’t judge your video quality on the computer screen in FCP.

Compressor has a youtube preset does it not? Did you try that?

If you shot interlaced, edit interlaced.

Then when you export; DEinterlace for the deliverables.

When I first started with PP, I too choose the FCP keyboard short cuts. But honestly, the PP standard keystrokes were easy to pickup and the keystroke for audio trans made me switch back to PP. You have to adjust a little bit but it won’t take long and you’ll know em all.

Last time I flew w/ my 370, I took the lens off and put it in my laptop bag with the audio gear.
Put cam body in a carry luggage wrapped in clothes.

It’s just a setting in QT:
There is a preference setting in QT/General tab/Enable Final Cut Studio color compatibility
