Can you export to Compressor directly from an FCP sequence? If not, repair permissons, trash Compressor prefs and restart.

For about a quarter the price of Continuum, you can get DVmattePro. It has eyedroppers like you mentioned. Killer keyer. Continuum is great too, just kinda expensive.

You also can hold down the option key an use the arrow key for one frame or option shift arrow for 5 frames. The latter is very handy for quickly and accurately locating keyframe points for manual opacity changes or whatever.

I don’t think you put a marker where you want the first chapter, I think FCP creates that one automatically.

Sounds like your needs are pretty simple. I don’t know much about iDVD as I use DVD Studio Pro, and in that 16×9 is a piece of cake. Maybey you should look at Toast.
