Where is Compressor
Posted by Babcut on July 29, 2005 at 10:46 amAnybody with this one? I cannot export a decent movie for my client without Compressor.
I have the application on my hard drive, but it doesn’t open and is greyed-out when I choose
export. Using Quicktime Conversion’s settings look terrible. I need the MPEG-2 file option.Bret Williams replied 20 years, 9 months ago 5 Members · 7 Replies -

July 29, 2005 at 2:17 pmDoes Compressor launch by itself? Can you export a QuickTime Movie and bring that into Compressor?

July 29, 2005 at 2:25 pmMake sure you export from your Timline.
If you export from the Viewer window, it won’t allow you to export through Compressor.

July 29, 2005 at 2:29 pmNo I can’t launch Compressor at all, even at the finder level. I was hoping to cusom install just
Compressor from the FCP software, but I don’t think I can. And I’m too superstitious to reload
the whole program in the middle of a job if I don’t absolutely have to. -

July 29, 2005 at 3:06 pmIf you need MPEG-2 you’re not going to have a choice except a third party encoder.

July 29, 2005 at 3:20 pmI know its just that I have compressor as a program on my computer it just won’t launch.
I suppose I will have to figure out a way to reload that software. -

Can you export to Compressor directly from an FCP sequence? If not, repair permissons, trash Compressor prefs and restart.

July 29, 2005 at 5:53 pmGo to Apple and see if you can find the latest compressor update and run it again. Or check your software update.
