You’re the guy who threatened to do me bodily harm if I didn’t get a BBG last Fall. Well, it’s worked flawlessly for 5 months, and now BOOM, you’re right, I did what you said and it works, although the horizontal hold is fakacta.
The BBG is kinda tucked away behind my decks, and I guess I never turned it off in these past five months. I bought it new, so tell me, is it normal for a Horita to burn up in that amount of time? Or is there a fuse or something in it I can change?
Fortunately, I can finish my long form video this weekend and it doesn’t have to go to tape, so I’m good until Monday, when I have a TV spot job coming in. Thankfully, my BBG vendor is here in town, just have to keep my fingers crossed that they have another one.

From bad to worse. I installed the latest Kona drivers, and still no go. Fiddled with the genlock settings, tried everything, now in addition to no ETT, I am getting a shaky B&W image on my monitor , no color. If I play a tape, it’s fine, but FCP and After Effects are only getting a shaky B&W image.
Don’t know how to terminate the external sync, I have a Horita BBG, and it has been working great for 5 months. Then today, BANG, all messed up.

When you put DV footage in a D1 sequence, you should adjust it so that it has 4 of the extra black pixels on the bottom and 2 on the top.

You can save it anywhere you like. There’s a twirl-down arrow on your save dialog box that will give you access to your entire system. Tell your PC friends to stick it.

It’s nice that those gradients are free, but holy ADO, take me back to the 80’s already. Take a look at some of the organic maps at Pixelan’s site.

In FCP, check 3 things in a row under the view menu:
1. External video>all frames.
2. Refresh AV devices.
3 Video playback, select the appropriate AJA device.Also a good idea to trash prefs, repair permissions and restart before you do the above.

If there are enough handles on your tape, then I would think it’s your camera, bad cables or both. Workaround is capture now.
