In my experience, output for anamorphic anything is 864×480, DV that is of course.

Shane, that’s a pretty inflated estimate, I got a used UVW 1800 for 5k over two years ago and it’s been flawless, and I have seen similar units even cheapre than that. I’ve probably made several hundred dubs with it, edit to tape is perfect and I have not had a bad call back from dozens of stations.

Thats’s so funny, as I have Graffiti, and RED but I just hate the Boris interface so much I have barely used either of them in 4 years. YUCK!

This seems to be a problem with every encoder I’ve tried with the possible exception of Bitvice. Compressor, Squeeze and Compression Master all seem to want to lower the gamma and increase the chroma and/or saturation. Yes it’s a pain, especially since you can’t see the filter results til you burn the disc, but I have got some great results doing this.

You also can get rid of field combs in photoshop with the video filter. Choose one field or the other.

If you’re going to DVD, yes, only if your project is DV just leave it DV. You can’t play the project over Firewire from an uncompressed codec.

What is the final destination for this file? If it’s for a DVD then you should try exporting through Compressor from your FCP timeline to m2v and an audio file, either Dolby or AIFF. If it’s for Quicktime, then use an uncompressed codec like Animation or 8bit, if it’s for the Web use H264.
