Well that’s true I guess, would be great if it would feed a monitor. Must admit I have had to trial and error using the filters, but I have got excellent results doing so.

You might look at Squeeze though, it has a preset gamma filter that works pretty well.

Let me add that your 320×240 movies may have considerable compression via Squeeze or Cleaner or whatever, in which case uprezing with anything may be pretty tough, if not impossible.

Actually, in the last few hours I have been enlightened to using Nattress chroma sharpen befor upscaling, which is beautiful and renders about four times faster than Resizer or Instant HD, which is another plug I’ve been foolng with this weekend. FYI

I know there’s a lot of answers to this post, but Compressor is pretty complicated, so it’s worth looking at a few options. Personally, I believe it works best through FCP as the attached article attributes. Also, I like it for it’s preview window and excellent filters, all of which can help you with any gamma and color problem. And you can save those adjustments as a custom preset.

Sorry if I was not clear, here’s what I’m getting. Let’s say I make a PS doc called “titles.” It has say, 10 layers, each named something different, like “Opening,” “Middle.” etc. When I bring the doc into FCP it is a sequence called “titles'” and all the layer names are gone. Does this make sense?

Yes, this is the way I do it too, very handy and you get guaranteed transparency on each layer. My only beef is that the layer names do not come over into FCP which is totally annoying. Thakfully though, double clicking the layer into the viewer lets you know what the heck you’re working with, but if the layer names could be preserved (like in AE!) that would be great.

Well this is strange, Huge tech told me to repair permissions on my HD by booting off my install disc, and after I did that I was able to physically drag the Huge disk over to the finder! Couldn’t do that before! So it’s fixed.

If you want to fly it in like any graphic, all that matters is that it is in title safe for a period during which you want to read it.

I have only done one test, the anamorphic footage I talked about, just shots of my yard and some flowers, but it was impressive. I intend to do some more tests this week with some people footage and I’ll report back.
