You do know that you can connect to an ftp server directly from the finder. Command-k will open a prompt for the server address. The server will prompt you for a user name & password if it needs them.

I started with Cyberduck because it was free and functional. I have since moved up to Transmit and I’m more than pleased with the money I spent. Great interface. Easy to use. Big thumbs up!!!

There’s a built in FTP client in OS X. Under the Finder, Go menu, select connect to server. After you authenticate, it mounts on the desktop just like any volume, if I remember correctly.
