I installed it but it said I had to use the newest version of Premiere Pro, which I do have installed. The version # required by BRAW 2.1 seemed to suggest it only worked with the public beta, since I DO have the latest version installed.

Truly it is. I think their Atomos need a firmware update AND they are recording on all for audio tracks but only sent sound to 2. These are producing Atomos files that play, as indicated earlier, with dropouts. When the lads return from location I’ll give the Atomos units a going over.

Video from a variety of cameras plays perfectly. Has for awhile. The video files I get from our ATMOS recorders will not play audio for more than 5 secs. So weird. I found a workaround until I check the ATMOS firmware and message boards.

I send the atmos clips to audition from the timeline. In Audition I simply save the file and bounce back to Premiere. The extracted wav plays perfectly and takes only a few seconds. At least I can get some work done…

I, too, am on Mojave and also follow the -don’t fix it if it is not broken- mantra. Same issue: pad and phone require the update to sync. Not at all pleased with this Apple move. R18 may well run in Catalina but I would not be able to do a clean install and re-install R18 because the installer is NOT 32-bit compliant. The application itself is. So…maybe? Not interested in breaking everything…

Are you running R18 on Catalina? If so, how do you install it? Or was it installed prior to upgrade to Catalina?

Thanks for that tip and good job on the recovery. Not perfect but you are not going to get perfect with that problem. This kind of mistake keeps me up at night and makes me extra vigilant at shoots re: media integrity and audio clarity,

    pictures did not come through

  • Yes. I do. But a minimal $50-$100 for a USB hard drive that I hang on to is added to original invoice. Once I explain the expense they are all onboard.

Open a new, fresh project. Then import the sequences, bins, etc into it from the corrupt project using media browser. Good luck. It has been known to rescue assets from a corrupt project.

  • Good communication between the computer operator and the floor director is necessary. Also, backups need to be done immediately because there is no raw media.

I’ve done it a few time on green screen shoots were I wanted minimal compression. If that is your plan beware of giant file sizes.
